At the start of the show, we tackle the hot button issue from Saturday night in many different lights about which knockout meant more Deontay Wilder’s KO of Dominic Breazeale and Naoya Inoue’s KO of Manny Rodriguez on the following levels 1) the boxing culture at large 2) just being flat-out impressive and 3) level of excitement moving forward?

We follow this up with a conversation about Deontay Wilder, who is slowly becoming the biggest American fighter in the sport, but like life itself, Wilder is complicated. Is Wilder a socially conscious fighter in the ilk of Joe Louis, Muhammad Ali or is he more of a shock value fighter like Mike Tyson in his prime? Conversations as always lead to discussions about Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury around Deontay Wilder.

FUN FACT: Wilder now has nine world title defenses and is the longest reigning WBC champion, so no matter what you think of him, he is well-tested.

A quick recap of Gary Russell Jr.’s win over Kiko Martinez as well as Juan Heraldez battling Argenis Mendez to a draw.
Naoya Inoue, the talented Japanese fighter, who know-it-alls are trying to make you hate, because of their snobbery of knowing obscure fighters, yet Inoue is so darn good you can’t help, but be in awe. Is Inoue a future GOAT, with the only thing left for him is a hall-of-fame-like run or is he untested? Why does no middle ground exist with Inoue?

Josh Taylor looks ordinary against Ivan Baranchyk, faces Regis Prograis in the final of the WBSS in the super lightweight division, does anyone outside of Europe favor Taylor in that bout?

Golden Boy silently put on a solid card on a Thursday night with two split decision on the main card seeing Romero Duno edge out Juan Rodriguez and Manny Robles III get a split decision over Rigoberto Hermosillo. Ryan Garcia’s brother, Sean, fought on the card and Golden Boy Promotions fighter Tenochtitlan Nava lost to game veteran Diuhl Olguin.

May 25th - Top Rank returns on ESPN with a title fight in Florida, Masayuki Ito vs. Jamel Herring fight for Ito’s super featherweight world title. Herring, a 2012 Olympian and Marine, is looking to win a world title in his first try, despite two losses on his record before leaving Al Haymon and Premier Boxing Champions for Top Rank Inc. This fight is Herring’s last hope to live up to his lineage.
Meanwhile, Ito is looking to become one of the hidden gems of the division coming in as a massive b-side only to batter Christopher “Pitufo” Diaz into obscurity (and a lower weight class). The winner of this bout becomes a person who can be in marquee fight against younger Top Rank fighters as well as WBC super featherweight champion Miguel Berchelt.

In the co-main event, two-division world champion and Puerto Rican Olympian Jose Pedraza will look to do something fellow countrymen Felix Verdejo couldn’t do and beat Antonio Lozada, the man who stop Verdejo last year. This is sink or swim for both in a potentially loser leaves town match. Carlos Cuadras will be featured on the undercard as well in the bantamweight division.
Aleksandr Usyk’s bad luck is Devin Haney’s good luck as the 20-year-old Haney will headline his first DAZN card from MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Maryland taking on former Jose Pedraza opponent, Antonio Moran. Moran is a durable and skillful world level fighter, who is top 15-ish in the division and will serve a good evaluation of where Devin Haney is, especially with Haney being in the mix for the WBC lightweight world title.
2012 U.S. Olympian Michael Hunter will return against former UFC fighter Fabio Maldonado, who has spent his last few years taking pro boxing bouts. Hunter is one of the dark horses of the heavyweight division, a lot of talent with not so much hype, will this performance help and how will his cardio be?
PBC has a card on FS1 as former world champion Austin Trout will face 2012 U.S. Olympian Terrell Gausha. Gausha, a decorated amateur who beat fighters like Jesse Hart in the amateurs has yet to land his marquee win as a pro. Is the weight cut hurting Guasha’s pro career or will this be his moment, or will you just look at the result afterward and not think much about it?
Super welterweight Chordale Booker will face Wale “Lucky Boy” Omotoso in Booker’s first major step-up from prospect to contender.
Ahmed Elbiali and Antonio Tarver Jr. will be featured on this card as well.

The Boxing Shop is back and "Real Ray" asked to be on ths how, because of bloggers. Ray feels that despite Inoue being one of the best fighters in the world, bloggers are all too happy to promote him to the top while looking the other way on major bouts with say, Deontay Wilder.

Do you agree? Is boxing turning into comic books and underground rap where some just want to show their depth of knowledge on rare things? Do you feel that the voices in the media are more about 'I told you so...' then help you obtain more knowledge of the sport.

This episode is not a recap of the week of boxing, but more a conversation between two friends.
